Deep ecology and my initial awakening (pt 6)

Part 6: University and the teacher that truly changed my life, a Native Algerian Berbere Philosopher/Manager/Psychologist! So as you can probably see in Part 5, I could write an entire book just on our 7-month European journey, but I digress, this is NOT an autobiography, but more of a treatise to awaken our deeper selves, …

Part 4 - The travel bug bites and my activist days – Late teens and Early twenties Just before going to CEGEP, which is Quebec’s trampoline school between high school and University, I went on my first school exchange. Cadets and survival training and my very first awakening In my early teens, I joined the Navy Cadets, as my father kind of ‘encouraged’ me to ‘enlist’, because he believed I needed more discipline in my life. I was very much a dreamer… I was also quite smart, just not that organized. He thought Cadets …

Deep ecology and my initial awakening (pt 1)

Growing up in a small town called Knowlton in the 1970s was an interesting experience, to say the least. With a population of about 1000 inhabitants at the time, I was an only child, quite the loner and was always very in tune with nature and the forest, spending much of my free time wandering the forests around my house. I would climb to the top of a 50-foot pine so I could have an unencumbered view of our beautiful Brome Lake less than half a mile away. The swaying of the treetops from the mild summer breezes would give me some exhilaration but so would the breathtaking view and the thrill and danger of being so high up.

A little about Terence Mckenna

As a fledgling life/spiritual coach/consultant/mentor/teacher (put your favorite adjective here), I follow many spiritual prophets/gurus/scholars, philosophers, traditions, scientists (yep), sages and shamans, Terrence McKenna is one of my favorites, especially when we look at our modern world and what is happening to us at the moment. He was very on point describing modern Western Culture: …

Some of my favorite Adyashanti quotes

“If you prefer smoke over fire then get up now and leave. For I do not intend to perfume your mind's clothing with more sooty knowledge. No, I have something else in mind. Today I hold a flame in my left hand and a sword in my right. There will be no damage control today. …

Gurdjieff awakening quotes

“Awakening is possible only for those who seek it and want it, for those who are ready to struggle with themselves and work on themselves for a very long time and very persistently in order to attain it.” ― G.I. Gurdjieff “In order to awaken, first of all one must realize that one is in a state of sleep. And in order to realize that one is indeed in a state of sleep, one must recognize and fully understand the nature of the forces which operate to keep one in the state of sleep, or hypnosis. It is absurd to think that this can be done by seeking information from the very source which induces the hypnosis.

Eckhart Tolle on Life, Death and his Awakening

Today’s post will be about a video I recently viewed and took notes about Eckhart Tolle, one of my spiritual mentors and teachers. talking about his life and Life in general, Death and his awakening experiences. I hope you enjoy it and please take a moment to write a small comment. Thanks so much in advance. You can view the entire video at the bottom of this post. Eckhart speaks briefly about his difficult childhood in Germany, his parents separation (sounds familiar), and his move to Spain, all by the age of 12! This also hits a sensitive chord as I lived there for 3 months as a young adult. rock-bottom-the-solid-foundation AWAKENING DAY When he finally experienced his awakening, he was in his late 20s, and on the following morning, he saw everything with fresh, new eyes. It was like a rebirth, as he had been suffering from depression and a lots of anxiety, trying to find his path in life. He began to realize that 80% of his thinking just stopped and also noticed that they were mostly the negative thoughts. I can attest that once you change this one thing, your life takes an about turn whether you are awakening or just monitoring your thoughts better!

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

Why blog about the spiritual side of Success? I would like to first say that I truly believe that we are in the process of awakening as a species to realize that we are more than our bodies, our countries, our minds, and at the moment, the powers that be do not want us to wake up. They prefer keeping us divided by nationality, by race, by class or wealth, by education, as division is the best way to keep people in line and under their control. I also believe that the new age group of practionners (lightworkers, healers, clairvoyants, and a number of others that believe we are on the wrong path), have a lot of difficulty understanding that money is a tool and thus is not bad or evil onto itself. Its uses can be good or bad, depending on the person using it and for what purpose. What I truly believe is you can be a success in life, AND still provide true lasting value to others in a deeper sense than offering them the latest gadget or Gucci footwear… I believe this book, and review will help you understand that you can be wildly successful and still offfer your messages of love, hope, compassion and peace ! I think Deepak Chopra is a great indicator to this as his Success is worldwide and his books are an inspiration to millions. “Success in life could be defined as the continued expansion of happiness and the progressive realization of worthy goals. Success is the ability to fulfill your desires with effortless ease. And yet success, including the creation of wealth, has always been considered to be a process that requires hard work, and it is often considered to be at the expense of others. We need a more spiritual approach to success and affluence, which is the abundant flow of all good things to you. With the knowledge and practice of spiritual law, we put ourselves in harmony with nature and create with carefreeness, joy, and love.” ~ Deepak Chopra from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
